After some reading, it sounds like Perspective's geolocation features only work in the mobile app. I downloaded Perspective workstation and confirmed I am not able to enable geolocation in there.
Has anyone out there successfully deployed a tablet-based solution utilizing Perspective's geolocation features? I'm imagining a system where inventory "tugger" drivers have their routes traced onto a map of our facility, with supervisors getting a high level view of where everyone is, their pace, when to expect inventory deliveries, and so on. Unfortunately, we are using Windows surface tablets, so we can't use the mobile app.
If anyone has done something like this, what tablet or device did you use? What challenges did you run into and how were they overcome?
It only requires that you check the enabled box on the session properties and that the web browser allows location access. Mine popped up asking if I wanted the site to access location information and once I accepted/allowed it, I was able to retrieve the GPS coordinates.
Edit: Just realized you tried workstation, and when I tested it, I was unable to get GPS to work there also. That would be nice if it did. You may have to revert to using a browser for now.
Edit 2: While not ideal, you may look into using an Android emulator as those I would think would allow you to pass GPS coordinates to the mobile Perspective app installed in the emulator.
Edit 3: Looked up some android emulators and most are made for games. Android Studio comes with one, but not sure if it is user friendly. Best bet may be to load the app in a browser in Kiosk mode of some sort.
