Hi Kevin,
Just curious from which version onwards of Ignition is the Exposed OPC Tags option available? From 7.6 onwards or 7.7 onwards. This will ease having to maintain multiple versions of my modules accessing OPC Tags from Ignition.

Hi Kevin,
Would appreciate your reply to above question. If OPC UA tags are exposable and accessible from a OPC Client from Ignition version 7.6 onwards then I would prefer to integrate my modules with Ignition thru OPC UA server rather than thru an Ignition module using Ignition SDK in order to avoid having to maintain diferent versions of my interfacing module.
Do you anitcipate any problems in using OPC UA approach against using custom Ignition gateway hook module written using Ignition SDK?

Exposed tags wasn’t added until 7.7. If you want to maintain support for 7.6, you’ll have to continue using the SDK. I would recommend that you drop support for 7.6 instead, focusing on 7.7, 7.8, and 7.9 when it’s available later this year.

Thanks a lot. I can drop 7.6 version, only support 7.7 onwards.
