I guess not everyone's home office is in an upstairs room in a house with raked ceilings on the second storey (limited vertical height where the desk is - I can literally just fit the height of a single monitor). Still, 16 seems excessive haha
Very interesting to see how other people work! I used to use 3 and now I just use one. I feel it helps me focus more. Having a second when needing to RDP/ssh is very useful but beyond that I find it just pulls my eyes apart
Is your username matrix_engineering because you work on a 4x4 matrix of desktops?
The name came first, I just wanted a randomey name that sounded kinda cool and not linked to my actual name, then a 2x2 matrix of monitors came later and after that matrice maths during my degree in Mechatronics.
Like Lynn, I think dimminishing returns would set in after 3 or 4. I have 3 (counting the laptop integral screen) at home. Sometimes I pull up a 4th by setting up my iPad, but thats not quite the same. I don’t currently have a work office, but I think I’ll max out at 4 total.
Do any of you find that using a number of flat screens bothers your eyes? One of my coworkers swears by curved monitors, says they help with eye fatigue.
