I often have multiple designers open, and sometimes I need to kill them (e.g. due to that JxBrowser crash in older versions), however I never know which one to kill as they're all called "Zulu Platform ..." Is it technically possible to rename these to include the GW name and project like shown in the designer application title? and if so, can it be?
Also, is it technically possible to replace the icon as well, or is this fixed due to using java? (the zulu logo is so ugly... and it would be nice to have the IGnition designer icon)
In windows of you go to the details view and turn on the command line column that's hidden by default, you can make it wide enough to see the connected server in the command line.
From what I remember, we pursued this once, but it's basically baked into the executable Azul provides us, and they're not interested in providing us a way to whitelabel it.
EDIT: To clarify, the most we could add would be a generic name like "Ignition Designer", we wouldn't be able to provide project name or other useful identifying information since the Java executable is shared for a given runtime version between potentially many clients/designers.
I didn't see a way to see that. The launcher only connects to the server, but the command line only shows the server it connected to, and I believe the rest is internal to the client app.
Another reason to use Linux. The task manager in KDE shows the window title, which includes the project name and the server name. (Those details also show in my task bar.) No uncertainty if I need to kill one. (Which is almost never, too.)
