I want to provide security to the Floder as highlited in yellow, as shown in below image. It is in the default tag provider. How to achive that?
When you say 'Provide Security', what exactly do you mean?
Do you want to restrict access to items in the folder? Do you want to prevent other developers from modifying contents? Do you want to prevent operators from writing to any tags it contains?
If you mean similar to folder security in an OS file system, me too, you can't right now. I've wanted this for a long time. It would mean being able to apply basic write permissions at the UDT level for devices (think operator role required to write to valve open cmd for example), and the apply additional permissions to folders, for example to restrict certain folders pertaining to site areas from write access unless the user is also part of the security level for the area. Currently, it's a royal pita as you have to override every write tag's permissions where there could be 100s of UDT instances and 1000s of tags contained within them that all need overrides. Not nice... I built a tool to do this specifically, but it's a horrible solution
