That works if it helps you remember it. The chart is still missing a few for the US Army (below). I can’t remember where the forum ranks came from, police force of some English speaking nation. Navy would confuse everyone - “what do you mean a Captain is near the top and what is this Ensign”?
Gen of armies (not used since Korea-ish, McArthur, I would guess)
General (O10)
Lt. General (O9)
Maj. General (O8) Brigadier General (O7) ----------------
Colonel (O6)
Lt. Colonel (O5)
Major (O4)
It seems a bit on the low side to me… Most forums’ top contributers are way up there. Maybe something like:
Cadet 0
Cadet 15
Trooper 30
Trooper 45
Trooper 60
Trooper 75
Private 100
Corporal 200
Sergeant 300
Lieutenant 500
Captain 750
Major 1000
Colonel 1500
General 2000
Definitely think that this makes a bit more sense but with the number of people actually using the forums being in the hundreds rather than the thousands or tens of thousands, I would say it should be somewhere in between the way it is now and this…
I’ve been posting for a month or two and am almost a captain! I’m not complaining though
Look at it this way:
How many users are there? 1578 ( as of this post )
How many Generals are there? 18 (Congrats to Ron for just making the grade)
How many Colonels are there? 4
How many Majors are there? 7
How many Captains are there? 12
How many Lieutenants are there ? 9
