Gateway Backup wont restore and GCU displays error

I am trying to restore a gateway backup onto my computer to view how a customer has setup their projects so that I can attempt to duplicate the formatting and screen navigation for a new, similar project for the same customer. I obtained a backup from the server that is running the projects and transferred it to my machine. When I try to restore the backup from the webpage interface, the gateway status hangs at “Unknown”. When i try to do the restore through the GCU i get the error " The Ignition Gateway service is starting… The Ignition Gateway service could not be started. A service specific error occurred: 4294967295. More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3547."

The Ignition version is 7.9.4 and the project also uses the Sepasoft OEE version 1 module ( I have tried both 1.9.5 and 1.9.3). I have also tried to update java and Ignition with no luck.

If anyone has any tips or things to try, I would greatly appreciate it.

Check the wrapper.log file (Program Files/Inductive Automation/ignition/logs/wrapper.log) to see what error is being logged when the service attempts to start up.

Here are the last few lines of the wrapper file from when i try to restore from a working gateway to the backup. The gateway stops but never restarts.

Phil, did you get a resolution to this? Have you been in touch with support?

Hey Mark,

We were able to get project backup and I have been able to mess with the things I wanted to. If it comes to the point where I need the whole gateway. I will contact support for further assistance. Thanks for the reply.
