Good morning everyone!!
I hope someone can help me, although I've reviewed posts similar to my current problem and there seems to be no apparent solution, so I'll try to be as specific as possible.
Technical details first. The Ingition gateway is hosted on a server running Windows Server 2016 x64-bit. The Ingition version is 8.1.2.0. The client network is a ring-type Ethernet network implemented with Stratix 5700 switches. There are four applications within the gateway, only one of which is experiencing the gateway disconnection error. The other three applications have not presented any similar errors.
Okay, let's start. We implemented Ignition with a new ring network. We did detect a configuration error on one switch. Aside from that, the gateway worked without issues and almost uninterruptedly for a year.
What happened is that we withdrew, and a new provider made modifications, adding new windows and creating tags for the provider of the application that is causing the disconnection.
The message this application sends is "Gateway Connection Lost" to all clients running this application. Other clients on the network running different applications don't work without issues.
The clients with the application experiencing the issue, which are two, don't disconnect at the same time, but they do so several times throughout the day, even in very short periods of time (it can take three hours or just a minute for it to disconnect again).
If I go online to the network and run the application, my client also disconnects.
The clients disconnect but recover on their own and reconnect.
It comes and goes throughout the day.
We've simulated the application in the office by restoring the gateway and simulating the PLCs with a couple of clients (Allen Bradley), but the connection remains stable (at least for the two hours of the trial version).
Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?
Thank you very much for your support!
