It did some upgrade to the Ignition server and now the gateway wont start.

Not a relevant error, I don't think. Post a complete sequence from that log where you attempt to start up.
Startup has threads running in parallel. The last message before FAULTED is not always the culprit.

It looks like invalid cron syntax in one of your scripts is causing an error that isn't being caught and is preventing the gateway from starting.
This was fixed in Ignition 8.1.34, though. What version is this?
There was an error in a scheduled gateway script of one of the projects that was causing the issue. Syntax requesting the script to run on the 0 hour and 36th hour of the day. We deleted the project folder from the computer hosting the gateway and it restarted. We then imported a backup of said project without the chron syntax error.
Thanks. I meant to say IT did an update on the server. We are on version 8.1.23.
