We have an HMI replacement project that is trying to limit modifications to the hardware or PLC program. The current HMI talks to a GE-Fanuc 90-30 351 via SNP on port 2 (serial/485). From what I can find, there’s no native way to do this with Ignition, even with the serial module. Has anyone found a 3rd party bridging device (e.g. protocol converter) that works well in talking via SNP?
Sounds like a job for Kepware.
I’m sufficiently familiar with this protocol to eventually do a driver (serial and ethernet), but it is way down my to-do list. /:
