A customer has a bunch of new GE PLCs and a new iFix SCADA system, but is very interested in Ignition:
Can you provide some suggestions for a drive to connect the PLCs to Ignition?
Is iFix an OPC server to which Ignition can connect?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I apologize for the lack of details.

We use Kepware to connect our 9070 and 9030’s to Ignition.
iFix 4.0 and up all can be connected to via OPC. I do it here quite a bit. You can see both the local database and any network connected databases through the OPC interface.
Dravik’s got it. We see Kepware used quite a bit when we have a PLC Ignition doesn’t have a native driver for.
As for connecting to iFix, you may need the OPC-COM module if it’s a OPC-DCOM server. Other than that, you should be fine!

It is indeed a DCOM server.
