Have anybody run Ignition Edge Panel Gateway in a docker?
What is the advantage of running Ignition in docker container?
If I have a IGN300 pc with windows operating system, would it be easier just run Ignition Edge Panel on the PC directly? I don't see any pc with docker installed.
What is the reason for running Ignition in docker?
Yes, for testing. I use docker for all my test environments.
Some people do use it for production.
But for me, the main advantage is quickly setting up a test environment.
Docker generally does not connect the container to the host's GUI. So, not for the client part of Panel. (The gateway, sure. But Edge is also often deployed on hardware that doesn't really have spare capacity for docker.)

One thing I'll drop in here is that you should probably avoid trying to use Docker in production on anything but a Linux host. Docker Desktop (and other alternatives to maintain a Linux VM to run your containers) is great but shouldn't be used for the final production deployment.
Thanks to everybody.
Ignition Enterprise license is expensive, I was wondering if I can run two Edge Panel licenses on one Industrial PC using Docker; two Edge Panel Licenses are still cheaper than Enterprise. Industrial PC cost thousands. From your replies, I think I cannot save money on licensing and hardware by using docker.
You can,
scrap windows, save money on the license and run linux.
You can run two gateways on one bare metal, by changing ports and install directories.
Whether you should or not is another matter.
IPC cost thousands? Checkout OnLogic https://www.onlogic.com/uk-en/cl210g-11/
Plenty of spec for Edge.
