Help double clicking components not bringing up menus. Only puts components in to deep selected

I am using Ignition Designer Maker Edition on PC ,and when I watch inductive university videos or just videos in general of people using this software I see that when people double click components a pop up appears usually called component scripting or drawing editor pops up but when I double click components nothing happens they just gray out and say they are deep selected. Is there some obvious setting I am missing. How do I fix this issue I have tried every components they just gray out and say deep selected.

It looks to me like the object you are double clicking is the standard motor component.
This is not a drawing component, so the Perspective drawing editor will not open.
Try right clicking the object and select convert to drawing. Then double click will open the drawing editor (In 8.3 only)

The scripting and events can be access using the right click context menu.

It sounds like you are watching videos of Vision component editing. Vision is not included in Maker edition.
