Historian Tag Path Syntax Format

I am laying out some foundational work.

I came across two valid syntax of Historian Tag Path:

short version:

DB_GW_A01/gw_maker:default]wm01

long version:

histprov:DB_GW_A01:/drv:gw_maker:default:/tag:wm01

From your experience.
Which one is more acceptable?

Presuming you meant to have a leading open square bracket on the first one, what you have are the formats for tag bindings in Vision versus Perspective, respectively. The scripting calls for history seem to accept both forms.

My guts says, use the long version..
