Historical Tag Group Timing compared to Tag Tag Group Timing

How does the timing of the Tag Group setup on a tag corelate to the timing of the Historical Tag Group?
If the Tag is being updated at a Rate of 5,000 from the PLC.
and History is being updated at a rate of 500.
Will the data be updated from the PLC at the higher rate of 500?
Or will the historian just see the same tag value until the next scan of the PLC at 5,000?

In other words… Is it pointless to have the Historical Tag Group run faster than the Tags Tag Group?

So, yes, it is pretty much pointless to have a historical group faster than the tag's actual execution rate.
