How to apply css theme animation to embedded svg?

I’m trying to create a view as an pump component with a embedded svg inside and want that it have the same behavior of the valve states (running, stopped and faulted). I tried to apply the ia_symbolComponent–running to it class, but nothing happens.

Is it possible to do this?

You are better of creating your own animations, which should be possible.
