In Ignition Perspective, I used a Text Area component to enter some text. In that text, I want to bold specific words. Is there any way to achieve this?

No, you can't.
You need to use the Markdown component which works pretty much the same way as this forum.
I'm curious why you want it though. You've used bold in your question post where it is not needed and is a distraction.
I am using user mentions in the text and would like the mentioned usernames to appear in bold, like this:
Testing **@user**.

Yes, as already explained.

You'll notice, @ARIFRAHUMAN_A that this forum doesn't bold a name (although it does add a subtle background) and it's still perfectly obvious because of the '@' character. Don't add unnecessary noise to your views.
