I want to export a custom palette in the designer to import to other engineers’ designers.
The problem I’m having is that the export for the custom palette exports a .proj file, while the import asks for a .vpal file.

Here’s a workaround I just found because I needed to do the same thing (even on Ignition 8). Navigate to the C:\Program Files\Inductive Automation\Ignition\data\projects"YOUR PROJECT NAME"\com.inductiveautomation.vision folder on the Gateway PC. You should see a custom-pallets folder. Copy that and send to your colleague and have them place it inside the same path (with their project name) on their Ignition Gateway. Have them reload the designer and the custom pallet will be visible for them.
Don’t forget to manually copy over any scripts that the components rely on…but those can be exported/imported as normal.
