The Communications protocol IEC60870-5-104 is a widely used protocol in the power industrie.
It is used ontop of tcp ip with socket connection 2404. This is an object based vendor independant protocol wich has many usful features.

IEC60870 is widely used, in Europe. Here in North America DNP http://www.dnp.org is the big protocol.
We have implemented both of these. They are both big complex protocols that take a lot of time and effort to implement. If you want a translator for these protocols into SQL Tags, we are putting the finishing touches on our SQL Tags implementation. It should be finished in a couple of weeks.
