[IGN-12111] Feature request: install multiple modules at once

Hi all, this may be unique to organizations like Sepasoft because we install 7 modules at once and do it multiple times per day.

It would be a great feature to be able to select multiple modl files at once. That way only one trip through the install process is needed.

Not only you! We, as distributor, we do all day long demos and install/reinstall. Batch loading would be great. :blush:

Hmm, I like this idea, but it would require some UI work to handle multiple modules, display multiple certificates, etc... and UI/frontend is definitely the log jammed right now.

Replicate the module certificate and license approval resources on the filesystem, and drop the module files into user-lib. Then restart. :man_shrugging:

(I haven't hunted them down in v8.3, yet....)

I think you'd have to update data/modules.json as well.

The modules that actually get run is no longer as simple as every module that happens to be lying around.

I'm on 7.3.0-SNAPSHOT (b2025062016)
would their been room for these improvements in that area ?

  • drag and drop a module in the "choose a file" window popup
  • multi select modules
    additionally, if you guys could either quickly move the pop up "Modules Installed" out of the way
    of ..clicking "Install/Upgrade Modules" , that would be just great

Anyway, we have a ticket about this already and I'll add your post to it to increase the priority.
