This is a pet peeve my boss has. You can't set the IDP from editing the project on the gateway webpage so you have to open the project with designer launcher to set it up.

Unlikely to change anytime soon. If you look over the current routes for projects, you'll see we don't expose it through the API. Without such a setting/field there, there's nothing the front-end can do. We do have a ticket from the early days of 8.1 to get that field added, but it wasn't completed in time for 8.3.

After speaking with a Dev, this might be quite a bit easier than I originally thought. I can't promise 8.3.0, but it should be available in the early versions of 8.3.
