Ignitioin 8.1.39 Designer Causes BSOD

I am having an issue on 2 PCs. Any time I load a designer it causes the PC to crash.

Bug check 0xA: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Has anyone experienced this behavior? Will upgrading software fix this issue?

Worth a shot... upgrade both Ignition and maybe any OS updates that are available...

That was what I'm trying today.

Weird things is, this was running fine back in May. It sat at the job site for months. They went to power it up in October when the site was ready and constant crashing. The only change I saw was a Logitech and Keyboard was added to the PC.

Running Window’s Driver Verifier, I got this:

"DRIVER VERIFIER DMA VIOLATION”

Driver Verifier is a tool in Windows that monitors drivers and checks for problems that may cause system crashes. a DMA (Direct Memory Access) violation usually means that a driver is accessing memory in an incorrect way, and may be the cause of a blue screen error.

Smells like hardware failure to me.

So I figured it out. The only change was a new keyboard and mouse was added before startup.

I am able to get the designer to load finally. After running the Window’s Driver Verifier, I found the culprit was a bad driver for the Logitech Keyboard and mouse.

The Keyboard required Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistribution package MFC Security Update. The Mouse uses a new software package (Options+). The Keyboard uses Logitech Setpoint.

When the Designer tries to load it crashes. Not how the bad keyboard driver interacts with Designer. The keyboard and mouse both worked. The manufacturer date on the keyboard is 2017.
