I have an old gateway running 7.9. I need to add some things to the project but I’m having an issue running the jnlp because of an expired certificate. What do I do to resolve this? Would grabbing a fresh installer from the Inductive Automation website come with a new cert if I were to take a gateway backup, uninstall the current version, install with the new installer, and then restore the backup?
You generally have two options:
- Hopefully there's some kind of Java settings in the Windows control panel area you can use to disable all the security stuff.
- Preferred - ditch JNLP/webstart and download the native launcher off the homepage of that gateway and just start using that.

We can launch the client no problem. What about the designer?
Should be the same story with the Designer. Modify security settings or use Native Launcher.
