Ignition 8.1.47: cannot login or open project in designer

I’m connecting to my customer’s site through a VPN. Till last month It was running smoothly: I could login into Ignition Portal and edit projects in the designer. Today something has changed - the customer says “nothing changed”: I can reach the Ignition portal at IP_addr:8088 after establishing the VPN connection, but thereafter I cannot login into the portal, getting the following message

and the Designer cannot download the project

Output from /system/gwinfo is:

ContextStatus=RUNNING;GatewayAddress=x.x.x.x:8088:8043;PlatformName=Ignition-Caldere;Version=8.1.47;PlatformEdition=;Plugins=;AllowDesignerSSO=false;RedundancyStatus=Independent;RedundantState=Good;RedundantNodeActiveStatus=Active;RedundantBackupAddresses=;OS=Windows Server 2022;RuntimeVersion=17.0.13;RequireSsl=false;launcherApiVersion=4;UseCondensedDialogFont=false;

(IP replaced with x.x.x.x)

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance, regards

Have you/the client checked with IT that they haven’t rolled out any new security changes? I would also get someone on site to try and log in, see if the problem is isolated to the VPN connection.

Hi @Jasmine_Quick , thanks for your reply. I asked the customer to check for any changes in the vpn settings, but he answered “nothing new at all”. I’ve no one on site that could try a local login unfortunately.

Are you able to access the gateway's logs directly, via an SSH connection or similar?

Hi @paul-griffith , I just had the opportunity to connect via RDP and incredibly enough I get

even when trying to login in localhost … never seen anything like that!

Definitely need to get the logs via the filesystem if you can - I'm expecting them to be very loudly proclaiming any number of errors.
