I have the beta version installed on two different VM’s hosted in Azure. The Gateways are working OK but when I try to launch a designer the Window seems to open but you can never get focus. The screen shot shows two windows open. I cannot switch to them by clicking on the window or ALT Tab. Is this a known bug? I have Maker 8.3 installed on a Linux server and I haven’t seen this, so it’s either something to do with the Azure environment, the full version, or a combination.
First, you list v8.1.36 beta in your title, but v8.3 is the beta version, so I’m guessing you’re off on it.
If you’re trying to use a v8.1 launcher with v8.3, I’m not sure if it will work, so I would make sure you’re using the latest launcher installed from the gateway web page to ensure you have a proper and compatible version. I know the launcher for v8.3 can launch v8.1 projects, but not sure if it will work the other way around.
It will not. Launchers are backwards compatible across a major version, but not forwards compatible. But the 8.3 launchers give you deeplink support, so they're a straight upgrade.
Sorry for the inaccurate original post. Our ~20 other gateways are 8.1.36-37 so I had that stuck in my brain. I downloaded the beta version and downloaded designer launcher from the gateway. It is 1.3.0-beta1. We setup this VM specifically for testing this version so it’s a fresh install of everything.
This is embarrassing. I just un-installed Designer Launcher and re-installed with ‘run as administrator’ flagged and it’s working now. Windows is really annoying.
You should also update to the latest beta. They’re currently on beta4 with new beta builds being released every Monday (so far).
