Is Ignition Edge capable of connecting to oracle DB? I want to pull data from an oracle DB into ignition edge, but I am unsure if it's possible with an Edge license or if I would need a regular ignition license?
Ignition Edge is explicitly forbidden connection to any kind of database. That is the key feature that was removed to justify the dramatically reduced price.
Use Ignition Standard edition.
If we have a hub and spoke architecture, would it be possible to pull the data from oracle into the main standard ignition and push it to edge gateway? Or would this not be a good practice?
It is possible, with gateway network messaging, or tag writes from central.
