Ignition Edge Gateway network setting on Redundancy

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding Edge communication when failover occurs.
I have an Ignition architecture below :

  • 2 Redundant servers (a master node and a backup node).
  • Some Ignition Edge instances, each Edge connected to a PLC.

Ignition Edge communicates with the master node via remote gateway.
When a failover occurs, I want to switch Ignition Edge Communication to the backup.
Do I need to add [Gateway Network - Outgoing Connection] to the backup?

Thank you in advance.

Yes, you'll need the Edge instance to have two connections, one to the master and another to the backup. It is aware of the role of those connections and automatically handle referencing the backup node when applicable.
