Just curious if anyone in Europe is using Ignition for commercial buildings, instead of solutions from dinosaurs like Schneider, Honeywell, etc.
Of course! Many integrators and end users have made the switch away from vertical systems (Schneider, Siemens, Sauter, Niagara…).
The problem is more one of maturity on the part of stakeholders (users, lessors, integrators…); many projects are now taking advantage of Ignition Edge IIoT or Panel and a central Ignition server.
Edge connects all trades (HVAC, pumping, electrical, stairs/escalators…), while maintaining standard installations, such as heat pumps, thanks to templates.
MQTT ensures seamless transmission and control, guaranteeing optimal performance and safety.
Finally, AI/ML can be used for fine-tuned control, as needed… All thanks to the IIoT platform.
The benefits are many: no more data silos, security (outgoing connections, segmentations, zones and conduits), business independence, and scalability (I can change my supplier without changing my business model)…
