Ignition gateway in virtual server

Hello!

I would like to know if is ok to use a Virtual Server for a Ignition 8.1 gateway.

I would like to know what is the minimum recomedation to run a Ignition 8.1 gateway in a virtual server.

Minimum requirements may be something like?
CPU: 4 vCPUs (or more).
RAM: Minimum 8 GB (preferably 16 GB for larger or more complex projects).
Disk: Minimum 30–50 GB, preferably SSD.
OS: 64-bit Windows Server/Linux (a version supported by Ignition).

Any other requirements needed?

hypervisors are notorious about stealing Ignition's idle CPU time to burn on other vCPUs. You have to configure your hypervisor to not do this. (No CPU overcommit on the entire physical hypervisor running your Ignition VMs, at the very least.)

Microsoft Virtual Machine Suggestion

After going through that sizing guide, I'd add another vCPU for every 4-8 Perspective clients (of pretty much any kind), a GB of gateway RAM for every 4-8 light-duty Perspective clients, and 2-4GB of gateway RAM for every heavy-duty Perspective client. "Light duty" would be single page Perspective apps running in Workstation, or Mobile, or single-tab browser sessions, displaying dashboards with real-time tags, up to an hour (-ish) of real-time trends, and pre-computed statistics for longer time…
