I have configured an OPC UA server on my Primary ignition gateway wich followed automatically on the redondant server.
I'm trying however to configure the non-transparent redundancy using the information I found here:
In the section OPC UA Client redundancy, I'm unable to obtain a different URI for my secondary gateway to configure the failover part in the OPC UA server settings.
Also, using UA Expert I'm unable to obtain data from the secondary gateway even when I force failover the gateway. Like if it's not configured on the secondary.
Non-transparent redundancy means that a client has to understand there are two or more servers and manage connecting to another server in the server set when the "primary" (the one with the highest ServiceLevel) goes down.
Ignition's OPC UA client does not support this and neither does UaExpert AFAIK.
Yes I uderstand that.
However my secondary ignition server seems to not ack like a OPC UA server in any case. I try to poll it using a tool when it's active and nothing seems to work.
I follow the instructions in the link I provided and I'm unable to obtain a different URI on both servers (they are the same). I think I'm missing a step in order for the secondary server to work as a OPC UA server.
There isn't really any extra configuration necessary.
These extra steps for the URIs are only because there was one client out there that didn't work unless there were URIs available to read and ServiceLevel was operable.
The whole URI thing is broken anyway and the configuration on the backup gets overwritten the first time a full sync happens.
