I'm trying to set up redundancy on two 8.1.37 gateways and am receiving an error on the backup gateway logs that I've never gotten before:
java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "com.inductiveautomation.metro.common.ConnectionFactory.createConnection(java.util.Properties)" because "factory" is null
Has anyone seen this error before or know what setting I must have goofed up to get this?
That's pretty much guaranteed to be an Ignition bug, as long as you did the install/upgrade of 8.1.37 on both systems correctly (if you ran the installer, you're good). I'd recommend you contact support so someone can try to get you a workaround (and escalate whatever underlying issue it is) appropriately.
Solved
The error was due to the Enabled option not being set to true under the "Gateway Network" section General Settings tab.
