Not sure if this is the right category to ask this, but will Ignition v8.3 change enough to where IA will have a separate set of certification tests/classes for it, in order for an integrator to be certified in that version? How will that work? Thanks in advance!
Great question, the answer is yes and no. Yes in the sense that we are coming out with new materials for our classes and adding questions to our tests. No in that we don't really certify in versions anymore. Around 2 years ago (I don't remember the exact date) we changed certification to be valid for 3 years. So if you got your certification right when we made that change, you would need to recertify next year before it expires. If you just received your certification yesterday, it will still be valid for 3 years, regardless of how many new version come out. However, in three years, you will need to recertify.
Ok, good to know. And the reason for your 3-year recertification makes more sense to me now too, considering you don't certify in versions anymore. Thanks for the detailed response!
