Install Maker Edition on MS-Server-2008-R2

Is it possible to install Maker Edition on Microsoft Server 2008 R2?

Why would you want to?

Maker is for personal use only.

Server 2008 is old.

Run it on Linux for free.

I have a HP Microserver NAS, want to test it on the server.

I suggest you spin up a Linux VM on the 2008R2.

Otherwise I think you’ll likely find compatibility issues with Java etc

Cool Ubuntu?

Whatever flavour you like, Ubuntu would be fine

Another note on running it direct on 2008R2 - that is way beyond the end of its support life-cycle by Microsoft, thus should not be internet facing. Maker needs an Internet connection to periodically refresh the license state.
