Install Maker on new Mac and transfer projects from machine being retired

Do I need to generate a new licence key for the copy of Maker I have installed on my new Mac? It appears that this will disable the gateway on my old Mac. That's fine but if the process needs to be carried out in a particular order please advise.

I also think I can export my projects from Designer launcher and then import the json files to Designer on the new Machine.

I this correct?

Take a full gateway backup from the old gateway and restore it in the new gateway. Using project export/import omits a great deal of configuration that you need, especially all of your tags.
