Pretend I know nothing about Linux or Node-RED…
When below says to “run the command in your Node-RED user directory”, where exactly is my node-red user directory?
I installed node-red from this script: Running on Raspberry Pi : Node-RED
And trying to add the node-red Ignition nodes from:
I ran this from here: /usr/lib/node_modules and it added a new folder, but the node didn’t appear in the nodes list… and from what it looks like, it should be in a different directory 
Where’s the “in over my head” with a straw to breathe emoticon?
