Instrument Interface Module documentation (as of 7.5.5)

Hi,

I’ve seen that there is a new entry in the instrument interface configuration called “LISTENERS”; It looks very similar to “CONFIGURATION” entry, so can you explain what is it or ?
Also, the documentation is not included with the module installation, where can we download it ?

That wasn’t supposed to get out yet. But to answer your question, “Listeners” will be where serial port, file and tag listeners can be setup on the Ignition server (as opposed to on the client). They will listen for new data from a serial ports, new files or tag values changing and then parse it.

We are holding off until version 7.6 which will include some feature that will make it easier to configure what to do with data once it is read from serial ports, files or tags and parsed.
