Hello, i have a Beijer panel which i run a OPC UA server on and i was wondering if it's possible to connect it to Ignition? I have tried to connect it myself but to no success.
I have tried to connect it myself ...
How?
... but to no success.
What errors did you receive?
Hi i've tried turning OPC UA server on at the panel with ix Developer and then tried to find it using the ip and port on ignition but i get timeout error.
If you are only going to bother writing one sentence to explain the issue, why would you expect a bunch of strangers to write anything at all to help?
If you actually want help, you are going to post screenshots of your OPC connection settings, the settings you configured in the HMI, text copies formatted correctly of the exact error messages and all the other detail you can think of to help.
Hi, here are the screenshots. In the HMI there are not really any settings except the ip address. The HMI im using is a X2 pro 10 and im running the OPC UA server from there, and here are the configured settings from ix developer.
And this is the error i get when i try to find it in Ignition. I get the same error even when i try to change the ip or port and when i write /discovery at the end.
Is there anything you have to do to enable it? Restart/download/etc?
Are there any firewalls that need to be turned off?
From what i understand i just need to click the "Enable OPC UA Server" and then download it to the panel and then it should run. I have'nt been able to find anything on any firewalls that need to be turned off.
A "connect timeout" error like that is usually a firewall or some other network issue.
It means Ignition tries to open a TCP connection and hears nothing back. Usually if the other side is reachable and e.g. the server isn't running or you have the wrong port you get a TCP RST instead, which shows up as a different error.
Is it on the same subnet as the Ignition gateway? If not you'll need to make sure both are pointing to a router that can route between the 2 subnets for their default gateways.
