Is it possible to create a application only with a database?

Hello,

I am new to Ignition and SCADA, I wanted to know is it possible to create a SCADA application in perspective only using a database and queries and no tags? I don't want to integrate any PLC/ device connections in my gateway.

Are there any limitations I may face?

Sure, Ignition can do such a thing, but it isn't actually SCADA any more.

With no physical devices, it doesn't look like either "SC" or "DA".
