Is there a way to set read only for remote tag providers?

I'm trying to set up a gateway for reporting so I need it to be read only so that users can't change tag values but can read them.

it seems that there is a read only option on the opc-ua server but that doesn't seem to affect the remote tag providers. according to the documentation there is a read only option for tag providers but not remote tag providers aggravatingly. I tried setting all the zones to not have write permission, but it seems I'm still able to write to tags on perspective views.

I was wondering if anyone had dealt with something similar and may have some pointers?

Make sure you're configuration of zones/security is on the gateway for the source tag provider.
