Jobs working with Ignition design

Hello. I currently sit with about 1.5 years of experience working with Ignition and I’m currently looking for a new location to live in.

In my searches for SCADA/HMI/Controls design, most of the jobs refer to working in Wonderware who I view as inferior to the Ignition software. So, my questions are: Who is hiring people who can design in Ignition and how have others found work with their experience in this software?

Thanks.

I hear that Inductive Automation is hiring people to help customers with their Ignition projects.

Looking for experienced candidates here seems like the right idea; i wonder why i don't see it more often

Nobody should be using Wonderware in 2024. I can't believe Aveva is able to keep it alive.

As for job seeking, I've got some saved searches on LinkedIn.
"Process Controls"
"SCADA Development"
"Inductive Automation"
"SCADA Ignition"

They'll turn up results every once in a while. Turn on notifications for your saved job searches.

Welcome to brand momentum.

Agree, if people are still willingly using FactoryTrash it should be no suprise that they use Aveva either.

The thousands of hours it takes to make Wondeware kind of work are hard to throw away unfortunately. I tried to convert my company but I'm a better developer than salesman.

The ROI of converting to Ignition (depending on how much they're paying in support to WW) for one of our customers is only about 2 years. The initial capital cost for the license is cheaper than the support renewal for WW System Platform, and then the integration cost is covered by the remainder of the 1st year and the 2nd year. After that, it's all tremendous cost savings over WW.

Edit: But back to the OP's original post, it would almost be nice to have a separate forum section for companies posting looking for candidates and one for anyone with Ignition experience looking for a job. I'm guessing Drew Horsley would be perusing this frequently! LOL

Name the sub-forum "Hot sauce listings" =)
