Hi,
I was not able to see Perspective for a project in one gateway even though I was able to see Perspective in a different gateway. Upon further inspection, I found that I was getting a JXBrowserUtil error saying the platform is not supported. Does this mean I need to upgrade my version of Ignition for Perspective to work? The gateway where I'm unable to see Perspective is using Ignition 8.1.35 whereas the machine I'm using is on 8.1.19, and the gateway where I was able to see Perspective is on 8.1.33.
Screenshot of error and console:
What do you mean by "in one gateway"? Are you trying to run Perspective Workstation on the same computer as the gateway?
FWIW, Perspective Workstation does not run on ARM-based hardware due to lack of JxBrowser support. (Nor the designer, nor the Web browser component in Vision.)
If it's not something "weird" like a Raspberry Pi or Windows but ARM, maybe it's an old Windows Server version that's no longer supported?
Pure speculation without more info from the OP though.
No, the machine I'm working on is a VM on my client's domain and I have access to multiple different gateways (none of which are on the same computer that I'm working on). The VM is using Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter which I see isn't listed under "Supported Operating Systems" for my version of Ignition, but I was able to open Perspective Workstation for a project on a different gateway.
The embedded version of Chromium hasn't been upgraded in Perspective Workstation (yet), but the version embedded in the Designer was upgraded (8.1.35+) and Google dropped support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and Server 2012.
