I am trying to use the TCP Driver Module that comes with Ignition to read from a Keyence MK-G1000 printer. Has anyone attempted this or had success? I am connected to it but can't read anything.
I already have all the documentation but not even Keyence has info on tying their printers into Ignition. The help desk only provided me code for AB PLC's and nothing else. Even that came from one of their customers I am told.
For anything but very simple packet exchanges, you probably need to write java socket code in jython instead of using the driver.
Hi Chris,
Do you have a copy of that AB PLC code example for communication with that printer? I'm struggling building something from scratch and am just using the discreet IO connections for now.
Thanks,
Rusty
Yes I have an AOI for that and a routine that uses it along with the code that interfaces with it. Works very well for my purposes. I will get it in this group today.
Hello Chris. I'm doing the same I'm doing the same thing like Rusty. I'm trying to setup the socket comms from Keyence MK-G1000 to Studio 5000. Is it ok if I can have a copy of the AOI you have? It would help me so much
Send me a private message with your email and I will send it to you. The forum won't let me post it. At least not that I have had any luck with it.
Thank you Chris. Much appreciated.

It's on the way.
Chris, Any chance I can get that AOI and routine sample as well?

Sorry, didn't get an email notification you had asked for this. Just sent.
Hello Chris..
Can I also get the PLC code to communicate with the MKG printer. I am currently trying to connect my printer to AB plc..but don’t know where to start.
It would be very helpful if you can send the code.
