looking to see what version of 7.9 was good for windows 7

Any of them should work, so just get the latest.

Just wanted to be sure. Upgrade to a newer OS is not an option they will consider. Is there a matrix of which java version/ Igntion/ os listed on inductive website

I think the downloads page lists requirements at the bottom for each version.

For 7.9 you need to stick with Java 8 on the gateway and Java 8 or 9 for clients.

just trying to figure out how come after years ignition stopped working on this machine

java 8 update 261 is what is running on the machine
