Limit number of pens in adhoc trends

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to limit the number of pens on an ad-hoc trend in Perspective. For e.g. let's say I have 1300 tags, I want to make sure that the operator cannot just drag and drop all 1300 tags at once. I tried to do this, and it crashed the gateway, so I wanted to make sure this does not happen during operation by limiting the number of pens viewable at a time.

I'll assume that you are using the power chart component.

You have a couple of options:

  1. Create specifice charts where you use the tagBrowseStartPath to limit the tags which are visibel in the browser.
  2. Hide the tag browser and use another method (such as buttons) to allow the user to add only specific tags to the chart. Assuming that you are using the adhoc trend from IA, this would mean spinning your own.
