Logging a tags change in a table

I am trying to setup a way to view a couple of tags that only change a couple of times a week. I have setup a table to show the tags, but it is showing the tags status every 10 seconds. What I want is to only see when the tag changes state. i.e. entry in the table when the tag is on and another entry when it is off. Basically the same way that the log journal works.

Any guidance on where to look to see how to do this?

one way is to set those tags tag history value mode to digital. that way the tag only stores when it changes.
