After doing an upgrdae (7.7.1 -> 7.7.2, but I think this can apply for all), I got one client that wouldn’t recover, giving a LookupError: no codec search functions registered: can’t find encoding ‘utf-8’ notification.
Somehow, the client’s Jython implementation got hosed. deleteing the [user]/.ignition folder took care of it, but the actual message threw me for a bit. 
In the end, no big deal, but passing it along to help others.
