Losing alarms when remote gateways disconnect

Hey all,
Currently we have a project using a central Ignition Server connecting to several local control systems running Ignition Edge.

Our client is mostly monitoring the entire system from this central Server. However the comms have on occasion failed, once it disconnects the remote tag providers go empty and we lose all of the alarming notifications.

Is there a way to keep the tags in place but go bad, or at least keep the alarms when the comms fail.

Thanks!

Hi Hayden,

Regarding your statement:

once it disconnects the remote tag providers go empty and we lose all of the alarming notifications

Are you experiencing issues with your Alarms not showing on a Vision/Perspective component or are you having difficulties with sending out notifications with an Alarm Notification Pipeline?

If you are experiencing problems with an Alarm Notification Pipeline, could you please elaborate on how your alarm system is configured. Is the pipeline being utilized for your tags located on the Remote Tag Server or is it configured on the Central Gateway Server?

Basically we use Edge to connect to our PLCs, and then use these as remote tag providers to our Ignition server. If these gateways disconnect the alarms from the remote tag providers stop appearing in our perspective alarm status component.

Also some use reference tags to these remote tag providers, obviosuly when they disconnect these reference tags lose their values/relevant alarms.
