Hi,

BR,
I just relayed the zip issue,
for the Sequoia install, can you explain a bit more about what you are seeing when you say "not running"?
To confirm, you are running this on Apple Silicon? Intel support has been dropped for mac as of 8.3.0
Is your user an Administrator or Standard User?
do you get a password prompt on double click? does it just fail silently?
If it fails silently, can you run
open -a /Volumes/IgnitionInstaller/ignition-8.3.0-SNAPSHOT-macos-64-installer.app
from terminal and past the output here? if that still fails, can you try running
/Volumes/IgnitionInstaller/ignition-8.3.0-SNAPSHOT-macos-64-installer.app/Contents/MacOS/IgnitionInstaller
directly from the terminal and paste any output
Thanks,
Jonathan C
Voilà! The latest cmd give this, and now it's obvious. all other cmd/exec gave nothing.
I'll have to restart my Mx MacBook.
Thank you.
execution error: posix_spawn(): 86: Bad CPU type in executable (86)
Are you on an Intel or Apple Silicon MacBook?
Intel. I switched back to Intel because of some Windows software that didn't run on ARM (Canary), but the lates is running well so I can switch back to Apple Silicon again.
Ah, yeah, Ignition 8.3 drops macOS on Intel support and switches to Apple Silicon.
Hi, I was able to download the macOS zip last week, but now am getting the access denied error again.
Hi Chad! I have reported this to the appropriate team. Sorry for any inconvenience. We should have it resolved tomorrow morning.
Hi Chad! It looks like the team was able to resolve the issue this morning. I was able to verify that the files can be downloaded again. Thank you for your patience.
The loss of support for intel chips should be included in the system requirements on the download page.
This is a very much less than ideal situation for anyone who supports PLCs as well as Ignition on macOS since you need Intel chips to run virtual machines for the PLC software.
Does the Docker image work on Intel chips?
It should, since it's just Linux/x64 on an Intel Mac.
You can also run the Ignition Gateway, Designer, etc... in a Windows or Linux VM.
