Maker licensing

Is a constant internet connection needed for Ignition maker license to continue to work? I am thinking about putting maker on a machine without internet for home automation but wonder if it will still work once the timer expires without internet. Thanks

I think it is a periodic not constant check, so to answer your question, no, it will not work once the license can’t reach the licensing server.

Seemed to obvious, but I had to ask. I was looking forward to using Ignition but will keep looking for a different software. Thank you for your reply.

The last I checked, it’s been a while, most Home Automation solutions required an Internet connection to work. OpenHAB was one of the few. I didn’t like OpenHAB, ended up using SmartThings, which needs Internet even for local/manual control. Good luck finding a better free solution.
