Manually insert row in audit table in perspective

Hi,
I try to insert some rows in audit table by using system.db in perspective but it doesn’t work.
The same code works fine in vision.
Is there any limitations in manipulating audit table in perspective?
I use 8.0.12 which doesn’t have system.utio.audit() function.
